Our Mission

Chinese culture is ancient and profound, rich in intangible cultural heritage—these are the knowledge, skills, performing arts, festive traditions, and folk practices passed down through generations. They embody the creativity and wisdom of the Chinese people, carry unique cultural values and spiritual significance, and have nourished and influenced communities across 9.6 million square kilometers.

The Forever Ronghua Foundation is dedicated to preserving, transmitting, and promoting Chinese culture and its intangible heritage. Through educational programs, cultural initiatives, and community activities, we aim to help people around the world appreciate the unique value of Chinese culture, foster cultural confidence, and inspire the next generation to become inheritors and promoters of Chinese cultural traditions in a global, intercultural context.

Our vision is to ensure that the essence of Chinese culture transcends time and space, gaining recognition, respect, and appreciation worldwide, while thriving and evolving in the modern world.

Ronghua

Rónghuā, or “velvet flowers,” is a traditional Chinese craft that transforms colorful silk threads into delicate, lifelike flowers. Some designs, known as Guanhua (Imperial Flowers), were historically used in the royal court to adorn garments, accessories, and palace decorations, symbolizing elegance, power, and prosperity.

This art form reflects the creativity, patience, and skill of Chinese artisans, preserving an essential part of China’s intangible cultural heritage. The Forever Ronghua Foundation celebrates Rónghuā as a bridge between history and modern appreciation, sharing its beauty and cultural significance with the world.

Q1: What is Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH)?

A: Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) refers to traditional skills, customs, and knowledge developed and passed down through generations, deeply connected to people’s daily lives.
It includes:
Traditional craftsmanship (e.g., ronghua, embroidery, tea-making)
Performing arts (opera, dance, music)
Traditional festivals and rituals
Food heritage and traditional knowledge of nature
ICH is “living culture”—practiced, inherited, and full of wisdom.

Q2: How many ICH items does China have?

A: China’s ICH system is structured at three levels:
National Representative ICH Items: 1,557
UNESCO-listed ICH Items: 43 (the highest number in the world)
Extensive Local ICH Items: over 10,000

Ronghua is our key program through 2026.
Meanwhile, we are preparing additional cultural events to explore other traditional Chinese crafts.
